CMS has been designed to run both over a network and as a stand-alone system on a single machine. Developed from the viewpoint of care staff and managers, CMS is designed for the day-to-day administration within your home, so even running CMS on a single machine will greatly reduce the time you and your staff spend on administration.
Yes - The CMS database is based upon Microsoft SQL Server technology. This allows for both scaleability and excellent network performance.
The simple answer is yes. There are essentially two ways to do this:
1. If you want to work from home and wish to access your machine at work then you can use remote desktop software. We recommend Teamviewer as they offer a free license for non commercial use.
2. If you want to be able to link one or more homes together or you wish to link your home(s) to a head office you can set up a Wide Area Network (WAN) or a Virtual Private Network (VPN). You then have the option to run CMS over the extended network or you can use Terminal Services.
If you would like more information about either of these options then please contact us to discuss your requirements in more detail.
CMS has a very robust security module which not only allows you to specify what screens a user has access to, but also what the user can do with each screen. For example you can allow a user to see the Rota, but you can disable the functions to edit the rota. Every screen and every module can be completely controlled giving you complete peace of mind.
In addition to the security settings CMS has a built in audit trail that documents every action taken. This makes it easy for you to track any changes made and to find out who and when those changes were made.
The system has been designed to be incredibly user friendly. All the screens have the same look and feel so you quickly become used to finding your way around. The system also comes with a number of tutorials that walk you through the system allowing you to learn at your own pace. The addition of a training database means that you can dry run the system before putting your own information in. We have also developed a touch screen version of our software. This is a scaled down version of CMS that is aimed specifically at keyworkers for adding daily care notes.
Yes! The system allows you to automatically back up your data at the time interval you specify. However the backed up data should be stored on a removable format like a USB memory stick in the event of fire, theft or hard drive failure. If the computer crashes and there is no backup then there is a possibility of data loss, and it is for this very reason that a backup is provided.
