2. We only have one computer, so surely we wouldn't have the need for CMS?
CMS has been designed to run both over a network and as a stand-alone system on a single machine. Developed from the viewpoint of care staff and managers, CMS is designed for the day-to-day administration within your home, so even running CMS on a single machine will greatly reduce the time you and your staff spend on administration.
|
3. Will CMS run over a network ?
Yes - The CMS database is based upon Microsoft SQL Server technology. This allows for both scaleability and excellent network performance. |
4. We have more than one home. Can I access the data in my other homes ?
If you want to work from home, or you have several homes and want to be able to access the data at each home, this is relatively easy to do. There are now cost effective solutions available to small businesses and home users that were once only available on a corporate scale. All you need is a broadband connection, we supply a router designed especially for secure communications and that gives you a VPN, a virtual private network. This will allow you to work seamlessly from one location whilst accessing data from another. |
5. We are concerned about security. Is there a way to keep users out of certain sections?
CMS has a very robust security module which not only allows you to specify what screens a user has access to, but also what the user can do with each screen. For example you can allow a user to see the Rota, but you can disable the functions to edit the rota. Every screen and every module can be completely controlled giving you complete peace of mind. |
6. Our staff are not very computer literate. Would they have problems using the system ?
The system has been designed to be incredibly user friendly. All the screens have the same look and feel so you quickly become used to finding your way around. In addition to this you can use the security module as a training feature as well as a security feature. You could restrict access to all parts of the system apart from a few key sections, gradually allowing more access and control as your staff become more confident. |
7. Is my data backed up ?
Yes! The system allows you to automatically back up your data at the time interval you specify. However the backed up data should be stored on a removable format like a USB memory stick in the event of fire, theft of hard drive failure. If the computer crashes and there is no backup then there is a possibility of data loss, and it is for this very reason that a backup is provided. |
